Canceled my Cable and land line phone today. I’m on a strike.

There is one thing worth considering, but beware undisclosed "activation fees!" Unless you are prepared to read 6 pages of fine print before signing on the dotted line...

Verizon has a land line substitute for $20 a month, called Wireless Home Phone Connect with nationwide unlimited calling. Presumably regular price, not a promotional gimmick.

I had been paying around $60 or more to AT&T for the same thing for the last few years.

I finished my 2 year contract, kept just the basic cable (cheapest). Did not sign anything. Soon I will get rid of that as well, just put up an HD antenna in attic and get 54 channels FREE.

I have had Dish, then Direct TV and then cable. I will never use any of them again, have not signed anything, just downgraded.

I will use my Cell phone as primary #, then check out Magic Jack.

I have WiFi, and getting a Tablet, then Nintendo Wii, I'm set for most anything then.

Paying $80 for 250 channels of NOTHING but shop at home shows/music/soaps/NO DATA/ is not my cup of tea any more. Some News, but I will not miss the FOX liberal show.
