You make it sound like you're one of the few FReepers who remember all that was going on at that time. Remember it however makes you happy, but that's not what happened.

Only 85 Rino Monkeys, from the MAJORITY party voted for it.

Those of us, sane and over 21 and paying attention, who were sober, not on drugs, and gainfully employed remember no such thing! Newt was the mastermind who brought about the republican majorities in both houses. It would be wonderful indeed to see Mr. Newt in the speakership again.
