Agreed. I'd just go after the politicians first. Whether this was an 'innocent mistake', or intentional crafting of the law to provide kickbacks to the politician's buddy - I don't know. The primary issue is that our government is involving themselves in programs that they have no Constitutional business to be touching.
Unfortunately, this graft is so ingrained in Washington D.C., that it will probably require an asteroid to flatten the place to change anything...
