A Ruger LCR works good. You can get it in 38 special or 357 magnum. The 38 recoil is easy to manage.
With the 357 magnum, you can shoot 38 caliber rounds out of it but you can’t shoot 357 magnum rounds out of the 38 pistol.
It costs 4-5 hundred dollar. My brother tried one and like it. Then he bought the .357 magnum and says its good. He carries 38 rounds in it.
My wife just picked up a Ruger LCR .38 special. Loved the no hammer to get caught up on anything. She splurged a bit though and got a crimson trace grip on hers too. Jealous.
