No, the Republicans simply didn’t have the votes to do otherwise. Pubs lost the election and the election had consequences. This is one of them. You can’t have your way if you haven’t got the votes. Pure and simple.

The Republicans won the House. That's where they are in the leadership position. It's time to lead and Boehner and 51 others groveled.
