“I watched a Twilight Zone episode earlier tonight in which a man got tired of contemporary society and took a train back to another point in time. It was intriguing.”
I would like to take a train back in time. It must be better than today.
All along the way, the Constitution has been slowly usurped. I figure the further you go hack towards the ratification of the Constitution, the freer and more alive you feel.

“Willoughby... next stop, Willoughby...”
I wish I could go back, too.
I wish we all could go back...
When I watched the TZ episode “To Serve Man” I was struck by the introduction - but I can’t remember it now - but it was him laying in the spacecraft/slaughterhouse and reflecting on how if they had not just gone along with the Aliens in the beginning....
The aliens of course sell if as though they are helping man. Feed the hungry, bring peace. This peace causes the nations to get rid of their militaries. (So when the aliens REAL plan is found out there is no resistance).
Another part that was very timely I did find in quotes, and was the guy talking about ho “adapatable” human sensibility is. One year they are amazed at a human orbiting the earth in a tiny capsule, and the next year they are boarding large intergallactic spaceships like it is nothing but a picnic trip.
Makes me think of the freedoms that we have given up and the huge problems we face, but we take them no more than a “those were the days” and most of us carry on mostly happy and unaware.
Until it is too late.
“Willoughby”
That’s my favorite Twilight Zone episode.
Second best is the one with the old hillbilly guy who dies with his dog.
