Britain should cease to be a full member of the European Union under a new deal that would focus on trade, according to senior Brussels politicians.
An umbrella group of 20 organizations campaigning for a federal Europe suggested Britain should be offered associate membership of the EU to prevent the country leaving altogether.
David Cameron is seen as the continual impediment to a closer integration of eurozone states, according to the Union of European Federalists.
The plan would see the UK lose all its MEPs, its commissioner in Brussels and its right to veto decisions in the European Council, but remain in the single market.

Yes, a de facto version. These “federalist” (imperialist) types want to make it de jure.
If the Brits fall for this one, they deserve everyting they get.
Essentially, what they are being offered is a “bait and switch” deal that is intended to bring them fully back into the EU as a full member.
Oh, I’m sure that they like the idea of a UK with zero voting rights, no commissioner and no MEPs on a permanent basis anyway, who they can dictate whatever they please to. Not that the toy parliament means anything.
Yes, make the UK second-class status in the EU to KEEP them from leaving.

They should definately accept. Making an organization of first and second class states totally undermines their entire legitimacy.
this already exists for Norway. The problem is that Norway has no votes on the Euro Parliament but has to follow the EU’s rules. Lose-lose situation
