For output per watt can’t beat LEDs problem is they’re expensive. But in using them my Christmas display light bill should be at least a 1/5th of what it would be with incandesents but that is no reason to ban them.

The price will come down. What concerns me is it won’t be low enough. I live in an area that is so bad people joke about the power failures. Our problem is “power failures” means surge-flicker-flicker-flicker-SURGE-off or some variaton that blows our electronic circuits sooner or later.
Since LED lights will have circuitry in ‘em (at the very least step-down to 5VDC) I’d be replacing them after a few power “outages.”
I’ve bought some warm ‘generic’ ones. You can tell that they don’t all have the same warmer color so they sold them without the label. But while expensive, I do like them better than the CFLs. The prices have been coming down, so that’s good.
Regardless, I’m still anti-ban.
