The 1968 Gun Control Act was a direct translation of a Nazi Germany anti-gun law.
Senator Tom Dodd, the father of the sitting Senator Chris Dodd (he got his son his seat) was a junior military lawyer at the Nuremberg Trials and found a copy there. It was Dodd Sr. that was able to get the 1968 law through his committee and congress. My father said he knew the Dodd’s and more so Chris Dodd and believed this to be true. In any case it was the Democratic push the got the 1968 law enacted.
