This fiscal cliff hysteria is intended to cover the real fiscal cliff that is looming over the horizon. If you will remember, Obama wants unfettered control over raising the national debt.
Now he knows that the House, under the Constitution has that power and he does not. He actually tried to make this part of a deal.
Raise the debt limit and do nothing to control the Federal Spending and witness what a REAL FISCAL CLIFF looks like.

By the way, he would like nothing more than the raising of taxes on ALL AMERICANS. I am sure this is beyond his wildest dreams.
Day in and day out saying he is raising taxes on millionaires and billionaires and setting the base line at $250,000 per year. Yeah, Obama is just giddy at the prospects.
