He's crediting "stop and frisk" but not Bloomberg's gun policies? How could that be?

Frankly, I think it's the soda ban. Thieves just don't have the energy they used to.

Because they're one and the same. The Bloomberg policy (actually a continuation of the Giuliani policy) is for police to stop any suspicious-looking "yutes" on any pretext (spitting in the street, smoking on the subway, etc.) and then frisk them for guns. Anyone found with a gun is then locked up under the Sullivan law.
