To: crosshairs

Here in NYC, if you see someone mumbling to themselves and pacing, you generally stay away from them. It was a last minute attack, happening too fast for someone to intervene. It I was there, odds are I would’ve chased her.

Sounds like she should be in one of those mental institutions Liberals had closed down a while ago.

I lived on Okinawa when the earthquake of 2011 hit Japan. I lived on marine base one block from the east china sea... I heard the sirens wail and knew I had to find out what was going on and evaluate the safety of my current location. Many of my friends and neighbors were completely oblivious for at least 30 minutes after the sirens. It seems that people everywhere lack situational awareness. Taking a survey of his surroundings may have saved this man’s life. Perhaps we all walk around in a state of self absorption.

That being said our culture is promoting behaviors that lead to widespread mental illness with very few mechanisms for treatment and ideally prevention available... unless we get our collective act together these types of stories will multiply
