Whenever I travel on the DC or NY subway, I always stay against the wall, preferably in middle sections of platforms with a divider or some natural barrier.

Maybe Nanny Bloomberg now will require gates on the platform edges to prevent people getting pushed or falling, and the gates will open only at designated spots where the subway doors open once the train arrives.
Or one should rather say she is still at "extra-extra large". Hopefully though they will nail this psycho.

Just my two cents:
All those calling for us to start “dealing” with our mentally ill...be careful what you wish for. While I agree that the state of psychiatric care in this country is woefully inept, let’s not rush to lock up all the suppposed psychos. Be careful who you label as crazy lest you empower people to turn the tables on you. Remember all the media spin “crazy tea-partiers” “right wing wackos” “conservative radicals” and on & on. I shudder to think of the day when we can all be legitimately incarcerated once the gov deems we all have a mental illness.
Furthermore, this crime does not appear randon to me. I smell something more along the lines of a gang initiation. Our problems in this country are due to a secular-humanist, morally relativistic way of thinking. We have a severe spiritual illness, not necessarily just a “mental illness”

Perhaps a good start would be to register all Latinas, or those exhibiting Latina characteristics. Later, house to house confiscation can begin.

As a business owner all I can say is if I had the same setup in my building as the subway is OSHA would be all over my behind to install guard rails, cages, and laser trips to keep employees safe.
Guess it must be nice to be exempt from fines and lawsuits like those too...
Don’t let Sotomayor decide whether to take up this case or not. All I’m sayin.
The time has come for background checks on people who want to ride the subway!
