If Congress was serious about cutting spending, it would get rid of the EPA and dozens of other departments, bureaus and agencies. Of course, that will never happen. Government won’t give up control of our lives without a fight. Besides, Congress and the president need all this bureaucracy to create jobs for their relatives, friends, neighbors and campaign contributors.
To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, the closest thing on Earth to eternal life is a government agency or program.
