I translate “healing” as just scabbing over and scraping along the bottom. There are only 12 million of us left in the country who actually make something. If you see that number drop we’ll be at risk of no longer being a self-sustaining economy. The “new filings” number has to be leveling off simply because there ain’t much left to cut——except in gov’t. But how come these geniuses who announce new filings can’t get around to mentioning new jobs in the same story? Until the latter is bigger than the former we are still swirling the terlet.
