I read this morning that the school Obama’s daughters go to has 11 armed guards.
That’s how crazy this plan is.
It’’s not known how many Utah schools have armed CCW staff, because it’s against the law for the school districts to ask the teachers/staff if they are carrying.
Locally, there have been School Resource Officers at the high schools for several years, but not at the lower schools.
I think they were there mainly to deal with students, not outside threats. Maybe recent events will change things.
I went to Stockton High in Stockton, CA and they had a police station on campus near the cafeteria.
That was in 1977 and there were several incidents that were brought under control quickly as a direct result of the proximity of officers.
Maybe we should see how many injuries and deaths by shooting happened at the armed schools.
Probably so many, in fact very likely more than at the unguarded schools, that we now have proof that the idea is a total failure. /s

Most schools have no need but Detroit area schools have them and the gang bangers still manage to kill each other.
My school has a couple of armed SROs. But I’d feel better if the law said I could legally carry there.
There are enough able bodied retirees in this country who would volunteer their time to protect every school in the country every hour there are kids there.
I have some free time and I’d certainly be one of them. Think about how much money it would save too.
