Gun control advocates, following the NRA’s press conference on Friday, slammed the National Rifle Association’s response. NRA CEO Wayne La Pierre told reporters: “How have our nation’s priorities gotten so far out of order? Think about it. We care about our money, so we protect our banks with armed guards. American airports, office buildings, power plants, courthouses--even sports stadiums--are all protected by armed security. We care about the President, so we protect him with armed Secret Service agents. Members of Congress work in offices surrounded by armed Capitol Police officers. Yet when it comes

We all need to begin ridiculing them.

They are not only hypocrites; most are just plain dumb.

Bloomingidiot: Instead of offering solutions to a problem they have helped create, they offered a paranoid, dystopian vision of a more dangerous and violent America where everyone is armed and no place is safe.

Really? What do we have now? The only places now that we are guaranteed are helpless and unsafe, are our schools.
You can't have both a Second Amendment and utterly safe anywhere. Otherwise, we would ban cars totally to prevent a nut job from driving a truck into a school... or ban knives, hatchets, machetes for the obvious reason... or baseball bats.

The only option that is certain to work is permanently to ban evil people, and the insane. We can start with New York, among elected officials. Some there qualify in both categories.

In a small Colorado town I went to the (so called) Social Security Office. It is maybe a 3 or 4 person operation. One of them is an armed guard behind a thick glass window who will buzz you into the office after verifying your appointment.

Has anyone gone postal at the SS office?
