The people who like Churchill already vote Republican. Lest we forget, Churchill was run out of office immediately after WWII. Some say that has caused the mess that Britain is in. We’ve tried the soaring platitudes, and they don’t penetrate to the inner cities and the universities. The first rule of rhetoric is to remember the audience. What do we communicate to a university student or an inner city single mother to get them to vote Republican? And how do we transmit that message to them? And I’m tired of hearing how stupid Democrat voters are. They seem to be smart enough to find their way to polling places. We just sit around and lazily listen to high paid consultants who assure us that we can win if we just get seven more people to vote in that precinct in Florida. Baloney. Play for all the marbles or go back to bagging groceries.

“The issue that we need to address clearly, courageously, and consistently is the issue of government spending.”

PLEASE, its an important issue, but not the ONLY one.

The REAL issue is about POWER. Abuse of power by a central government gone wild that can steal the money out of your paycheck and waste it, or ban God from public life, or seize firearms by edict, or bankroll private businesses with taxdollars, or grope and abuse American citizens at airport checkpoints, or throw an American into prison over a film condemning a pedophile like Mohammad, or can turn the other way as an army of illegals sneaks across the border, or run a hokey gun peddling scheme with drug lords, or support Islamo-fascist regimes which persecute Christians and other religious minorities, or ram through a health care program in which the working citizens loose benefits to cover those who refuse to pay or work.

Its about an extra-constitutional tyrant and those who support and bankroll him.

Its about a WHOLE LOT OF THINGS.

Romney TRIED the solid economic approach. Its difficult for some small minds to comprehend without coloring book illustrations of what we mean.

I pray he's right one more time.

I know he said to “never, never give up,” but sometimes there is no point in fighting any more, as Chief Joseph understood. And the British gave up on Churchill and let Poland be communist when the chaps had gone to war to drive out the Nazi socialists.
