It would've been nice had you included some kind of explanation for what this was all about.

For those interested, the U.S. Department of Justice has allowed ten New Hampshire jurisdictions to "bail out" of the restrictions placed upon them by Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act.

Evidently, these jurisdictions had been accused of some discriminatory actions against a minority long, long ago (Indians, Canucks, somebody?) and were made subject to Section 5, wherein the DOJ had the right to pre-clear any and every change that might affect voting rights -- down to the location of the balloting places.

New Hampshire is now rid of this onerous and demeaning status.
