Cuomo Says He’ll Outline Gun Proposal Next Month ("Confiscation could be an option...")
NY Times ^ | December 20, 2012 | THOMAS KAPLAN

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo said Thursday that he had started discussions with leaders of the State Legislature about new gun control measures, and that he planned to propose a package of gun legislation in his State of the State address on Jan. 9.

“There’s a big difference of opinion on these issues,” Mr. Cuomo, a Democrat, said in an interview on an Albany radio station.

The New York Assembly, controlled by Democrats, has voted for a number of proposed gun control measures in recent years, only to have the legislation falter in the Senate, which has been controlled by Republicans. (Starting next month, the Senate is to be led by a coalition of Republicans and a breakaway faction of Democrats.)

Mr. Cuomo, speaking on WGDJ-AM, said gun control had not recently been among the most discussed topics in the capital, so he had reached out to lawmakers to gauge where they stood before he...

He added that he was focusing his attention on changing state laws restricting the possession of assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines. The governor described the state’s existing ban on those items as having “more holes than Swiss cheese.”

“I don’t think legitimate sportsmen are going to say, ‘I need an assault weapon to go hunting,’ ” he said. At the same time, he noted that he owns a shotgun that he has used for hunting, and said, “There is a balance here — I understand the rights of gun owners; I understand the rights of hunters.”

In the interview, Mr. Cuomo did not offer specifics about the measures he might propose, but, while discussing assault weapons, he said: “Confiscation could be an option. Mandatory sale to the state could be an option. Permitting could be an option — keep your gun but permit it.”...

So in other words, the State of New York is going to go house to house searching for guns.......hum.
I am pretty sure the British tried that once.

I’m sure this “proposal” has already been “outlined” by Adolf Hitler and Josef Stalin. If Little Andy had any brains, he’d just “Google” it. It has already been done.

Let me guess, he has no plans to confiscate any of the guns the criminals use on a daily basis.

I am sure that the Gov will knock on the first house and demand their guns himself.

Gun confiscation will lead to a third Obama term.

I am at a loss as to who these liberals think they are going to send to round up these weapons. Most military people are pro gun and stand with the constitution.

Any U.N force will be met with a hail for gunfire on day one.

This dickheads father vetoed the death penalty all 12 years in a row he was in office. NYC had 2000 murdrs a year under that bozo.

As soon as Pataki signed death penalty legislation, the murder rate fell 50%
.
Anybody living under a socialist dictatorship gets everything they deserve, and NY is a socialist dictatorship.

This is what the left wants, to disarm us..not just “Ban automatic weapons” PLEASE, that is NOT their intention, their intention is to confiscate ALL OF OUR WEAPONS..pistols, shotguns, you name it they want it. My friend on Facebook posted a very disturbing image she saw on Occupy Wall Street’s facebook page, it showed an image of Hitler(with a quote from Hitler) talking about “To control a nation, one must disarm its citizens” its truly scary that is the road we are headed on

Exactly how would they go about confiscating guns?

What a farce.

This coming from Liberals who said the gov’t couldn’t deport 12 million illegals because it didn’t have the manpower or money...

So how are they going to find something that can be stored in a small space?

It’s not like you can get a small wooden box, dismantle, lubricate, and store in a hole millions of Mexicans for retrieval years later...

Oh wait....

This jerkoff Coumo's father was Governor from 1983 to 1994.

Look at the murder rates decline after Pataki signed death penalty legislation in 1995!

By the way if the Newton shooter were to have been arrested, Connecticut has no death penalty, they repealed it this year, so he would get three squares and a warm bed for the rest of his life.

Coumo is a mobbed up douchebag and petty dictator wannabe like the Mayor of NYC.

US States Crime 2004 -2006 Crimes per 100,000 and Ranking
The table below provides the rank of each State's reported rate of crime as compared to the 50 States and the District of Columbia.  1 = the highest reported crime rate and 51 = the lowest. Going from one year to the next a higher number means, that compared to other States, the relative crime rate is increasing and a lower number means that the relative level of crime is decreasing.  The Index category represents the total number of crimes, and since most crimes involve property crime it is weighted towards these types of crime.

Coumos father has the blood of at least 12,000 murder victims on his hands with his veto of the death penalty in NY for 12 years in a row.

That’s a fact, and his son and that tyrant in Gracie Mansion are doing their level best to get NYC back up to 2000 murders a year by going after citizens trying to protect themselves and letting the criminals run wild.

Andrew, Andrew, Andrew.....I will not give up any of my AR’s no matter what any new law says. If you think that I am going to voluntarily surrender them, you have lost what’s left of your small mind.

Their lack of reverence for the constitution should be alarming to anyone who still considers themself an American and should serve as a perfect example of why we have a second amendment in the first place. If this is their attitude when there is shared power, imagine their actions when they have ALL the power. Come and take them. We’ll be right behind you.

So what will they do after all the ARs are gone when some lunatic kills a bunch of 6 year olds with a 14 shot lever action? Then after they ban that someone uses a gallon of gasoline and a match?

If they do this the states around them need to put up barricades to keep the New Yorkers in. Don’t let them into the other states and just let the criminals teach them a lesson.

I am sick and tired of lousy, liberal politicians who keep tying gun ownership rights to hunting. The 2nd Amendment has absolutely NOTHING to do with hunting... but the problem is, if those same politicians were to admit what the 2nd Amendment is REALLY about - they would wake up a bunch of folks who are just as ignorant... that the right is about national defense - from threats both foreign and domestic.

At the very worst they could try confiscation but that would lead to a mass exodus. All of the northeast U S disarmed? Just the manpower to pull that off is incredible. Sorry, I just don’t think it’s possible.

Sarah, don’t concern yourself over a page posted by the squeaking mice at occupy wall street. Tuck yourself into bed and enjoy a good night’s sleep.

People sleep peaceably in their beds tonight because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Have a blessed and joyous Christmas, dear lady.

From an email sent to me tonight from a friend across the state line in New York:
“I usually check our Want Ad Digest WEB site every day for guns and ammo for sale.
I now see today they changed the site from “Guns and Ammo” to Firearms, ammo is NO longer listed, nor sold!”

I suggest that the good Gov. Cuomo personally do the confiscation. That way he can lead by example and show how it's to be 'properly' done. He should even wear a blue windbreaker that says GOVERNOR on it in big white letters on the back. That'll show the peons whose the boss!

I also suggest he start his confiscation in NYC (Bloomie won't mind). In the nicer areas like the Bronx, Harlem, Hells Kitchen, and 'certain zip codes' in Queens. I'm suuuuure he'll be a smashing success in those places.

(However, if I was Mrs Cuomo (is there one?) I'd make dam sure his life Insurance premiums are paid to date!)

The problem is that none of these liberal anti-gun politicians and talking heads defines the term “assault weapon”. It could mean an automatic rifle (already banned) or it could mean a 9mm with more than 10 rounds or it could mean whatever they want it to mean. Unless they define the term, we are in for complete obliteration of our 2nd amendment rights.

He did NOT mention repealing the Gun Free School Zones that put big targets on our schools for every criminal and psycho. I was really disappointed. He could have done so much better. Thoughts?

Let’s be clear: This is not about gun confiscation, this is about full implementation of the liberal/socialist/communist agenda, which requires that the populace be helpless, unarmed, and unable to effectively object.

It is the duty and obligation of Americans in the mould of our founding fathers to react to and overthrow tyranny that will ooze up from time-to-time.

This has nothing to do with crime. That’s proven by the history of where they have implemented strict gun-control laws; violent crime goes up! They also know the last AWB had no positive effect at all, it did nothing it was supposed to do.

So then we are left with why do they want to disarm millions of Americans? Not one democrat has ever refuted or rebuffed Bill Ayers call for killing 25 million Americans. They almost worship the murderous Stalin, Chavez, China, Russia, et al. Not one of them ever says they condemn the mass murders they have done.

Since they have no legitimate reason for their gun control arguments and they have a history of supporting the murderers of political dissidents it follows their reason for this push is to make it hard for us to fight back so as to make it easy for them to round up, kill or imprison people like me.
