Milwaukee: Sheriff calls for armed school guards, condemns gun control

Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. calls for placing armed tactical officers or security officers "in every school and public place in America," in a commentary piece posted on a tea party website.

Clarke also condemns calls for gun control in the wake of the Sandy Hook School mass killings in Newtown, Ct., and says, "We have to resist with the ferociousness of a junk yard dog any -- any -- attempt by liberals to make us less free by chipping away at our constitutional freedoms."

He berates "liberals for exploiting tragedy once again in our country and try(ing) to use tragedy as a reason to take our rights away."

Suggestions of gun control "are the mind-set of sheep," Clarke says.

"Sure run and hide from a sociopathic killer. See how far that gets you. You know where that'll get you -- 26 dead at Sandy Hook School," says Clarke's article posted on the website "Tea Party Perspective." It was posted by Nik Clark, president of Wisconsin Carry, Inc., a gun rights group.

Clarke is the only Dem we vote for (yes he's a Dem). However I disagree with him on this, slightly.... I'd rather have armed teachers. Not all; just those that choose to do so.

We need to end the concept of gun free zones; they have been proven to be free fire zones. Using cops to protect the schools costs money; having armed teachers would be free to the taxpayers. Plus the evil ones would never know exactly WHO has a gun....

One final note: How many more children must be sacrificed on the alter of “gun free zones”?

One of the first rational solutions to this I’ve read about, but something I’ve been suggesting.

Rational? Really? You have lots of money to donate to the taxman to pay for this. Putting armed guards in harms way is simply a new challenge for the dedicated suicide killer to overcome. Surprise is on his side.

Face it. You don't want the police to prevent crime. The logical extension is to deprive you of your freedom for security to achieve its goal. The police are there to pick up the pieces after a crime and find the correct criminal.

Life is a risk. Depend upon yourself with your wits and arms. Keep good company. More cops ain't gonna help.

Think about bringing back reform schools and insane asylums. Dump the lawyers excusing nutty clients. Dump most of the psychology profession. They are nuttier that the mainstream population.

Here in Missouri, we also have a sheriff suggesting that we arm the teachers:

Milwaukee Mayor Barrett took issue with Clarke's assertion that placing armed tactical officers or security officers in schools and other public places would stop violent acts. He noted the 2009 rampage at Fort Hood in Texas that killed 13 and left more than two dozen others wounded.

"That was a place where they had many guns," Barrett said.

Mayor Barrett is mistaken. The Fort Hood shooting actually took place in a "gun-free zone":

Service weapons are checked daily and are usually only allowed to be removed from an arms room for training on a range or maintenance. Personal weapons must be kept locked and registered with the base provost marshal.

From the article: “I was appalled to see Sheriff Clarke’s over-the-top comments in print,” said Milwaukee Common Council President Willie Hines Jr., adding that the comments should make everyone in the county “uneasy.” “His is the kind of toxic rhetoric that would further divide the nation, and he spews it simply to advance his own extreme political agenda.”

Same ole, same ole, projection from a libturd....cuz we all know, his master Obammy hasn’t done his best to cause division amongst us all....

extreme agenda ping:

“[Assault weapons’] menacing looks, coupled with the public’s confusion over fully-automatic machine guns versus semi- automatic assault weapons —anything that looks like a machine gun is assumed to be a machine gun— can only increase the chance of public support for restrictions on these weapons.” Josh Sugarmann, executive director of New Right Watch, spokesman for the National Coalition to Ban Handguns, “Assault Weapons and Accessories in America,” policy report of New Right Watch and the Education Fund to End Handgun Violence, September 1988

“Self-interest has no place in society” Sandy Cuney, Handgun Control Incorporated, 5/6/94

“Our main agenda is to have all guns banned. We must use whatever means possible. It does not matter if you have to distort facts or even lie.” Sarah Brady, Handgun Control, Inc., The National Educator, January, 1994

“If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an out right ban, picking up every one of them... ‘Mr. and Mrs. America, turn ‘em all in,’ I would have done it. I could not do that. The votes weren’t here.” Dianne Feinstein, Senator, CBS-TV’s “60 Minutes,” February 5, 1995
