Let's bracket the statistics a little bit more carefully:
Germany 1939-1945: 1 million murdered per year.
Russia 1917-1950: 1 million murdered per year.
China 1945 - 1980 1 million murdered per year.
Gee, maybe the US murder rate isn't so bad after all...
