Skip to comments. My Take: Obama's Newtown remarks show presidents as pastors in chief

Presidents wear a lot of hats. They serve as commanders in chief. They nominate Supreme Court justices. They veto congressional legislation. Increasingly, they are also coming to serve as our pastors in chief.
In his remarks Sunday night at an interfaith service at in Newtown, Connecticut, President Barack Obama vowed to use whatever power he has to prevent more mass shootings, and he all but promised to push for stricter gun control laws in the next U.S. Congress. But policy was not top of mind yesterday for either the president or a grieving nation.
It wasn't a speech. It was a sermon. And it is worthy of the talents of our current pastor in chief.

Except if it's Obama . . .
No, Stevie, it was a speech accompanied by a middle finger to America wiping away imaginary tears.
This is so true. Mrs. henkster, who does not profess to be a political junkie like her husband, referred to 0bama’s comments yesterday as “0bama’s sermon.”
Right! The same man that would murder them if they were newly born to rotten mothers. I'm getting sick and tired of this Kenyan born, illegal alien hamming his way into Americans' lives.
“President Barack Obama vowed to use whatever power he has to prevent more mass shootings.”
Can he heal the mentally insane? Oh, I forgot he’s the Messiah.
Irony: The president deplores this horrible mass murder. Good. He should.
But he supports children being killed in their mothers’ wombs.
“I don’t want them punished with a baby!”
What is really sad is that the president would have dismissed the slaughter of these children with a shrug or a given a defiant defense of their slaughter, if their mothers had chosen to have their children ripped apart while in their wombs.
CELEBRITY-IN-CHIEF or POLITICIZER-IN-CHIEF.. Not sure which..
Sincerity - if you can fake that, you’ve got it made.
Or maybe Imam in chief?
The unbridled adulation of this poser in chief is somewhat scary anymore. Blatant really, and they are proud of it. It is as if they are almost fawning for him to notice their adoration of him, isn’t it?
The best quote from the comments section:
“Obama quotes scripture and calls on God but every day through his politics he tries to eliminate Him from our lives. Hypocrite.”
Lib/commie motto: Never let a tragedy go without exploiting exery aspect of it it, even if your remarks don't fit the situation. Always sandwich your attack on people's rights between the peanut butter and the jelly.
Like your infamous boo boo to create your private police force, just as powerful and as large as the U.S. Military.
Hit them while they are chanting hypnotically and not listening to what you are saying anymore.
I never though there could be enough Kool-Aide nor could it be strong enough for this to happen.
It is a mental disorder. Not a doubt about it.
When you’ve erased the true God from your heart you are still inclined to fill that void with something... just... wow.
I really did not want to see this pic. Understand the sentiment, but a heads up would be nice. LOL
The headline in the article should be warning enough...but sorry if you were grossed out.
Where, oh where, is the BARF ALERT for this piece?????
And, anyone who thinks the leftist POS who squats in our White House is talking anything but politics in exploiting this crime is delusional at best, deranged at worst.
I need to remember to squint as I am scrolling through the comments, that might help.
Have a good day!
Every national speech Obama gives (Arizona, Oregon, Colorado, etc.) has served only to encourage the nut-jobs out there, who see the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES on a national stage talking about massacre, and they too will become famous.
This event, and Obama’s shameless publicity stunts, are the catalyst for copy-cat massacres. He and his handlers know. Bank on it.
Obama, the perfect father, the perfect american is an angel of light...as in Lucifer.
