Thirdpower notes that the local gun show near him broke records. This weekend around here, the Oaks gun show was absolutely swamped. I just hope all these people panic buying are planning to join the fight, because there

I saw this happen in 1994. They did not believe we were real then, and we handed them their heads in the elections that followed. They have remembered it for 18 years, and now they need to be reminded. We can stop them, but we have to fight!

We need a shadow government and a military-style command and control structure. This is a seriously non-trivial task. Tyranny has been displacing freedom in this country since at least the time of Wilson and gun registration/confiscation is the sound of the cell door slamming shut.

The Tea Party made a virtue of no central authority and I respect that for a democratic process. I don’t think that lack of structure works for a revolution.

Some things to stock in our PR arsenal.

Dr. Suzanna Hupp Testimony to Congress on the Second Amendment

Hupp was at the Kileen resturant where some 23 people were killed including her parents because she obeyed the law and left her gun in the car. The gunman didn't.

Feinstein in 1995 On Her Concealed Carry Permit

Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in 2010 Extolled the Virtues of Guns: “I Carried a Gun Every Place I Went. . . But for Me, Guns are More than That (about Self-Defense) – Video 2010

Where do we start?

Good question. Another one might be, WHEN do we start. You can bet your last dollar our would-be masters are doing everyting within their considerable powers to avoid igniting the spark that will set the wheels in motion. Incrementalism is their MO and when it appears to them they have stepped over the line that may light the powder keg, they will step back....temporarily....to live and fight another day. Death by a thousand cuts is still death and we have been subjected to 900+ already. Not that anyone has noticed...

I’m the patient who found the lump. I’m not the GP, the surgeon or the oncologist. However, it seems likely to me that the best approach would be to co-opt an existing organization and use its structure. I’m not picking any names but if large numbers of like-minded men joined local chapters of existing fraternal organizations or clubs or minor political parties and used their numbers to take over those organizations an existing structure could be redirected to a revolutionary aim.

"I saw this happen in 1994. They did not believe we were real then, and we handed them their heads in the elections that followed."

Did they promptly repeal the ban after the '96 election? That ban expired. But some of the Democrats behind their current anti-Second-Amendment effort have made it clear that they intend a "permanent" ban against semi-automatic rifles this time.

And IMO, lawyers in Congress and state assemblies stubbornly refuse to repeal such bad laws. So, all, write to your members of Congress and state assembly members to nip gun control in the bud now. Also, find a way to convince your members of Congress and assemblies that repeals sometimes need to be done. Otherwise, be prepared to see each party get no more than one term at a time, or worse, the worst politicians elected to hasten the process of decline.

Most Americans are fed up with seeing their freedoms violated and productive activities outlawed by groups of constituents hostile to their freedoms (e.g., homeowners' associations).

The alternative to stopping the attack against the Second Amendment rights of working class men (of both political parties) will be a further increase in disrespect and distrust of politicians and their favorite constituents in the shadows (both political parties). If your hopes of an economic recovery under any political party haven't already been abandoned, such an anti-political trend will assure the completion of the default process and economic decline.

Acts of violence by criminals will never be completely stopped, but there is a way to see such evil deeds decline during the next generation. Stop the divorce/cohabitation, false victimology, pro-vice and hyper-regulation policies. Kids need fathers, or at least widow mothers who respect traditional family structure. And don't regulate (not even with zoning regulations) against small, new manufacturing starts on larger parcels of land.
