Hero Teacher at Sandy Hook
The Daily Beast ^ | 12-17-12 | Nina Strolich

When Victoria Soto heard gunfire ricocheting off the normally quiet hallways of Sandy Hook Elementary School, she didn’t run and hide. Instead, the 27-year-old teacher gathered her first-grade class into the closet and bravely placed herself between the young children and Adam Lanza, the heavily-armed shooter.

This brave teacher saved lives. She could have run and hid, but she didn't. We need more of her kind to face evil and protect the innocent

I agree....
but there was another young teacher....she was interviewed by Diane Sawyer the night of...

..she shoved her class into a tiny bathroom & proppped something against the door ... the bathroom was so small that students had to stand on the toilet...

..she stayed in there with them and kept them quiet, talking softly to them to allay their fears....

..and told them to pray with her if they wanted to pray....

I was really impressed with her.

All those teachers are heroes. I would have been scared myself.

It is a situation I hope never to encounter at school or in public. I weep for those who lost loved ones, but rejoice for the ones accepted into the arms of Christ.

I had not heard of that. The depth of fear those people must have felt...I shudder
