So why would Bonehead put his caucus in the position to vote for
tax increases? Most here can figure it out.

The tax increases are automatic per Budget reconciliation 2003 and an 2 year extension exactly 2 years ago.

What he is trying to do with a extension of the first $1M of income (for everyone) assuming that is really the figure, is to stop the GOP house from once again like a year ago (FICA payroll) taking a stand against middle class tax cuts,

Last year it was suicidal.

The big mistake he made was adopting the rheteric that extending the tax cuts is 'raising taxes'. That put him in a no win.
