I remember being encouraged to take anti-depressants back in the tenth grade in High School when I was having a tough time and felt depressed enough to see a few psychologists. I ended up refusing them for the same reason that I haven’t been doing any kinds of recreational drugs, I am not into the idea that my mood and behavioral patterns would be beyond my control and manipulated by some unseen force. I should, possibly, be thankful that I’ve made the right choice with one of the examples being that anti-depressants can have a tendency to increase the rate of committing suicide.
