Feds look other way as wind farms kill birds -- but haul oil and gas firms to court
Fox News ^ | December 17, 2012 | Barnini Chakraborty

Lights left on during a foggy night last year at a West Virginia wind farm are thought to be behind the grizzly deaths of nearly 500 songbirds.

It was the third time it happened -- and each time, the federal government looked the other way.

...

“The playing field is not leveled,” American Bird Conservancy spokesman Bill Johns ... All they do now is go, ‘Whoops, my bad’ and it’s forgiven.”

...

The wind sector has had an exemption from prosecution under two of America’s oldest wildlife-protection laws: the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and the Eagle Protection Act. A violation of either law could result in a fine up to $250,000 or two years imprisonment...

“How does an industry kill more than 2,000 eagles and not be fined once?” Johns said.

...

in central California, 70 golden eagles were killed by wind turbines at Altamont Pass, without prosecution. The findings follow a 2008 study by the Fish and Wildlife Service that estimates wind farms kill nearly a half million birds per year in the United States.

“How does an industry kill more than 2,000 eagles and not be fined once?” Johns said. “It’s a head scratcher.”

Simple. The communist globalists and their useful idiots (environmentalists) don't give a crap about wildlife. It's about control, power-wielding, and feel-goodism.

I detest these filthy hypocrites.

The purpose of federal laws and regulations is to make every man, woman, child, beast, and business a criminal. There can be no way to avoid committing a federal offense. Such laws can then be used by politicians to punish their enemies and to reward and protect their supporters. These laws are certainly not there to protect eagles, they are in place to prevent any actions not endorsed by the left and enviro-wackos.

I used to hunt goose on the east side of Horicon Marsh (WI). Now that side has hundreds of wind mills and no geese, even though the marsh is the largest waterfoul sanctuary in the state.

Damn, hit post before I though of this story.

I am a truck driver and was breaking a trailer to find my freight. One of the shipments was photographic paper. On the side of the paper was an image of a wind mill and the words; “manufactured with wind power”.

I couldn’t help thinking; “How many eagles were killed in the making of this film.”

They are too busy looking for hte non existant dead caribou that died from fright over htep ipeline, and looking for the non existant decline in caribou births that they were so sure was goign to happen due to the pipeline, that they can’t be bothered by the thousands of dead endangered birds caused by widnfarms

How in the hell did this country slip into such apathy that we just let our goverment trample all over our constituional rights? There is no way in hell that 100 years or so ago this country would have allowed the government to get awy with such comunistic bull crap- the peopel woudl hjave thrown these bums out of office and said ‘if you’re not goi9gn to do you job and protect our rights, and instead want to trample our constitution, then you don’t deserve to be in office- and for failure to do your jobs that we hired you to do, you are FIRED! Now get the hell out!”

They kill large numbers of bats, too, thus causing the insect population to increase. I hate those bird-slicing, bat-shredding monsters.

Millions of conservatives sat home on Election Day and handed Barack Obama a mandate that he will use to destroy the country - all because his opponent was not pure enough to suit their tastes. I hope they enjoy the result.

It’s sad that a lot of conservatives felt they woudl rather see this country handed back to the likes of the evil dear leader than to vote for an imperfect candidate- And its equally sad how angrty these folks get when you tell them they just voted for dear leader and for evil for 4 more years- Whiel romney wasn’t anywhere near perfect, or conservative, he was a hell of a lot better than what we have now- we just have to hope and pray that dear leader doesn’t compeltely destroy this coutnry- and we have the conservatives who sat at home out of a warped sense of ‘conviciton’ to thank for 4 more years of hell at hte hands of htem ost liberal, most coutnry hating president thsi nation has ever known
