Our other Hawaii senator Akaka, just retired so now both will be replaced. Akaka is replaced by Maisie Hirona, a left wing liberal progressive yes man (woman) to the Democrat party. Total mindless party line idiot.

Is it true that only his fellow democrats are permitted to actually voice your other Sinator’s name?

Yes and who ever they pick , Abacrombie, our far left wing Governor will give him or her his stamp of approval. Hawaii’s government State, Federal, and almost all local counties etc. are almost all democrats. Maui has a republican mayor, a good one too, but he is the lone ranger republican here.

Wouldn’t Linda Lingle at least have a chance to take the seat?

Linda Lingle just ran for the retiring Akaka’s seat and lost by a landslide to Hirona. Linda ran as an Independent as running as a Republican is a lost cause here. Yes, she was governor in the past but that was unusual for Hawaii.
