Boehner looks distant and detached. He looks almost drunk, but he does not appear happy. He looks like someone who’s just made a deal with the devil. His conscience will never be clear, but for his mortal life, the Won will make sure he’s taken care of.

This makes me sick.

Let’s also remember that it’s only a matter of time before our debt rating is reassessed. Moodys and others will likely dump us from AA to A or lower if these shenanigans continue.

The photo is from several weeks ago. That's the only photo the MSM prints. There's nothing more recent because Obama and Boehner haven't met since then (except for today's meeting for which there are no photos).

This one is a snapshot in time. They just wanted to get the millisecond in the meeting which portrayed Obama as in command.

That photograph is from 10-12 days ago. When it first came out, I agreed that Boehner looked drunk or hungover as well.

There are no photographs of the two sides released to the press from today. That is another reason why I believe the deal is basically done. When things get quiet, and the leaks stop, then you know people are under orders to wait and not leak. Why?

Because you will (as a lower level aid) get your A$$ handed to you if you leak too much when a deal is almost done. The Big Boys want the credit. The two sides will NEVER hold a joint press conference on something like this. That is reserved for war time or when Washington wants to present a "united front" to the world. No, in this case there will be two press conferences.

One by the Republicans (claiming victory) and one by the Democrats (claiming victory).

HOWEVER - because this deal has things in it both sides hate, expect muted enthusiasm.

It also has to be voted on. But, once the public buys off on it, they votes will be there.

A Doggerel of David

I feel for the country that gave me birth,
Though I live elsewhere on the earth
This is the way the world deflates
With debt ceilings and credit rates
Fatigued into submission, all
Paralyzed, watching the bottom fall

“He looks like someone who’s just made a deal with the devil.”

Huh .... I wonder why.

” His conscience will never be clear, ...”

Why do you say that? HE DIDNT RE-ELECT OBAMA. 60 million Americans did. they are the ones responsible for this mess.
If more voters voted Republicans, we’d have a Republican budget. As it is, Mourdock losing, Akin losing, Tester winning ...Anyone who didnt vote Republican voted for higher taxes and more spending.

Hey presto, it’s amazing - that is what we are going to get.

And this too:

Ya know, when we said that re-electing Obama would be a disaster, we meant it, and Boehner is not omnipotent and cant fix that particular fact. He, like us, has to live with it. I’d get drunk too if I were in his shoes!
