I feel for his family, but knowing and have met many media types, I can’t help but think that what often is a strong sense of entitlement and a naive and childish American-leftist ideology common among these folks gets them into trouble in the real world.

Last I heard, she was headed to (Iran? Iraq?) to "help underprivileged children".
Did I mention that she was white, (very) liberal, mostly anti-American (anti-conservative), upper-middle class, and hadn't been much of anywhere other than suburbia, a few spring break vacations, and a couple of colleges? Poor girl would last for about 10 minutes in a hostile environment.
The sad part was that her parents were a couple of (white, liberal, upper-middle class) college profs, and encouraged this sort of foolish behavior. Her friends were desperately trying to talk her out of going, I dunno whatever happened to her. I've not read about her in a newspaper, so I guess she's OK.
Pleasant enough girl, brunette and pretty, just an utter fool. Noble thoughts won't get her very far in life. She'd be better off catching a husband and finding a charity here in the states to advance with his money.....
