These will NOT be the people Germany needs to grow and prosper.
They will drag Germany down the same hell-hole the rest of the EU is going.
Good. Germany willingly joined the EU. It’s time to pay the piper. They thought they would get rich from the free trade without any cost. They were wrong as all bigger government types are.

Germany joined the coal pact after WWII because it wanted to rehabilitate its image and to prevent another war between France and Germany -- so they along with Luxembourg and Belgium formed the Coal pact (can't remember the actual name)
This progressed to the EEC and the European community
The EEC and the EC have been very beneficial to European countries -- eliminating wars between members and increasing trade. Even the Conservatives in 1972 in the UK felt that it made sense to join -- and it still does (witness that London remains the financial center for the Euro)
About joining the Euro, you do realize that joining the Euro was one of the conditions given by French President Francois Mitterand to allow Germany to reunite right (the Germans had to get permission from the UK, France, US and Russia to do this) as he wanted to prevent Germany from getting too strong and aimed to subvent it in a "Europe" idea with France leading
Finally, the addition of hard-working, desperate people who want to work is not a bad thing -- these people will not be eligible for welfare from Germany as they will retain their citizenship in their homecountries -- you don't need German citizenship to work in Germany, if you are citizen of an EU member country.
