And with all the chit-chat reporting about the shooting, has anybody heard how the shooter got those weapons in the first place?

The irony is that CT has strict storage and transportation laws on the books. Either the kid somehow got access to the key/combo on his mom's safe, or the mom was in violation of the state's laws regarding same.

Regardless - he didn't use an "assault" weapon, he used two handguns, so why the call for another "assault" weapon ban?

Ditto the gun show "loophole", etc.

Chris Wallace asked Bill Kristol if Republicans should give in on "these weapons of mass destruction ... the handgun that could fire 5 bullets in a second, the magazines a hundred rounds ...".

He should have asked if it's time to stop pretending that crazy people are normal and should they be institutionalized for the good of society?

Because if they could act on logic instead of emotion, they wouldn't be liberals.

I think Connecticut -- like most of the blue states -- already bans "assault" weapons. What they don't do -- and is next to impossible to do, is ban "ugly, scary, black" guns.
