Well, a copy built 30 years after original, with new materials and technology available has to be better than the original.

The Russians themselves replaced their Su-33s with the Mig 29Ks so I don’t see what deal is :)

I realize the J15 and Mig29K are different classes, but considering they are both carrier craft, it would be interesting to compare them.

Exactly! I am quite surprised at the Chinese for trying to obfuscate what can be clearly seen. The 'indigenous' J-15 is a direct copy of the SU-33. It just happens to be that the J-15, built a couple of decades later, has newer avionics than the original.

BTW - I would still rather purchase an updated SU-33 than the J-15, even with the Chinese claims.
