There are about 100,000 schools in the US.

200 million is just over $2,000 per school.

This is BS.

Throughout this article the word “budget” is used. What Budget?? We’re borrowing all this money and somebody says they “cut” funding? They may have redirected the money, but using the word “cut” is BS.

Arming the teachers is fine if the teachers want to be armed or are capable of pointing the correct end of the gun at the bad guy. However, most grammar schools are populated by female teachers and administrations and in my neck of the woods they are liberals by high percentages. They can’t put together the fact that evil bastards love gun free zones.

Perhaps this could be their reality check. No need to indulge their unicorn utopia fantasies when children are getting killed.

Since federal money has no longer been spent on protecting the schools, can someone tell me where all the tax money has gone? Has ALL the TARP and stimulus spending been poured into shady deals and corruption?

Also, what exactly is the purpose of Homeland Security?

““I was baffled to see funds and programs cut in these areas,” said Kenneth Trump, the president of the National School Safety and Security Services firm that helps school districts and policymakers improve protections for teachers and students. “Our political and policy leaders need to walk the walk, not just talk the talk about being concerned about school safety.”

So without starting another TSA style agency what would this guy do to actually prevent something like this? There isn’t a whole lot that can be done short of militarizing every class room in the country to prevent some insane person from going off the deep end and committing an atrocity like this. It is a horrible thing for the kids at this school to experience but having every kid in America live in constant fear is not the answer.

“And we’re going to have to come together and take meaningful action to prevent more tragedies like this, regardless of the politics,” the president added.”

I heard you Obama, I heard you loud and clear.

My new HD shotgun is presently on a shelf in a Cabela’s store with my name already on the box, ready for me to pick it up tomorrow afternoon.

Monday, I’m going to the elementary school down the street and offer to volunteer on my days off.
I CCW.
I’m a Veteran.
I always train.
And I have 2 good walkie-talkies.
They’ll probably say, “No,” but at least I’d offer it.

The liberal principle would probably call the cops, and they would arrest you as dangerous red necked conservative with guns.

The central government has nothing whatsoever to do with the security arrangements at a particular elementary school.

Ah...I was wondering how the leftists would manage to blame this latest tragedy on Bush and the Republicans. Now I see how. The Republican Congress didn't renew the programs that would have prevented the tragedy (supposedly)....and apparently Bush prevented having police inside the school. Of course, we all know that it's the Democrats that have controlled the purse strings for four years up until 2010. So any programs that were ended in that period of time are due to Democrat policies. But that fact will NEVER be reported in the lame/mainstream media

"Government officials told the Washington Guardian on Friday night that two Justice Department programs that had provided more than $200 million to schools for training, security equipment and police resources over the last decade weren't renewed in 2011 and 2012, and that a separate program that provided $800 million to put police officers inside the schools was ended a few years earlier."
