This is not rocket science.
Women who are single still desire security, and they look to Uncle Sam/Sugar since they don’t have a man.
They are also unlikely to have a strong opinion that isn’t considered “cool.” Most are also not deep thinkers.
I say this as a single 26/f. These are my friends. And they are morons.
My sister in law, a 30 something liberal from California made the statement when Obama won, “At least my uterus is safe now”. Can you think of a more ignorant statement, and oh ya, she is one of those professional student types. Been going to college for about 16 years and still doesn’t have a meaningful degree and works part time retail. My wife about decked her. Can’t believe they are from the same family.
I see it every day. And to think what the suffragettes went through to secure that right, only to bequeath it to a generation of bimbettes.
OUCH!
That's gonna leave a mark.
Watch your back!
I think that you are right on. I suspect that these women do not even realize why they are making such a decision.
I continue to be amazed that so many voters are willing to retain in office someone they know practically nothing about.
Add to this group the voting bloc that votes for the Democrats because they received an Obamaphone. They say things like "Romney sucks," but they cannot say why, or even anything about his positions and policies. This is our country today.
So maybe the demographic is not single women so much as slutty women. But respectable intelligent conservative women make up that thirty-some percent.
They aren’t financially interested, so that is why the taxes they pay don’t offend them. I try to educate my female friends on a regular basis. When the commercial about how much Romney paid on his investment income ran, I took every opportunity to explain that he has already paid regular tax on his income and this is investment income. And taxing investment income at a higher rate will hurt retirees that live on their investment income; it isn’t just the rich.
But unfortunately, these women are more worried about their birth control, abortion, makeup, hairdos, concerts, and “feelings” than financial health.
I’m ashamed to say my 26 YO daughter votes on a single issue — the unfettered right to kill unborn babies. She says she’s not interested in finance, economics, growth of the economy, or our financial well-being.
She is bright, hard-working, has an excellent job, and is economically independent, but she cannot think pragmatically about the critical existential threats facing our nation. She refuses to think objectively about freedom vs. tyranny, individualism vs. collectivism, dictatorship vs. liberty, or government of limited powers vs. totalitarianism. I am completely appalled and dismayed.
Good for you, FA.
Funny post. LOL
