During a special cameo appearance at the 12-12-12 Concert for Sandy Relief, comedian Adam Sandler paid tribute to the resilience of the NY/NJ metropolitan residents affected by Hurricane Sandy.
Set to the tune of Leonard Cohen‘s oft-covered classic “Hallelujah,” Sandler and David Letterman‘s long-time sidekick Paul Shaffer performed a parody titled “Sandy, Screw Ya!”
Name-dropping every famous New Yorker under the sun from Mayor Michael Bloomberg to Alex Rodriguez to Donald Trump‘s combover, the lyrics were as follows:
“The terror of the hurricane / The unforgiving wind and rain / New York, the world held its breath as the storm took it to you / But you’ve been knocked down in the past / Taking shots they thought would last / But you always get right up shouting ‘Hallelujah!’ / Hallelujah / Sandy, screw ya / We’ll get through ya / ‘Cause we’re New Yorkers.

Kanye West just wasted 20 good minutes with that horrible display of vulgarity. Certainly, the powers that be could have gotten someone else to perform much better material. That was perfectly dreadful.
I turned off the sound during his set, leaned back the recliner, closed my eyes and enjoyed 20 min of blissful silence and the woodstove.
I don’t feel sorry for the victims of Sandy.
They wanted a big, inefficient government and now they have it.
I’ll keep my money.
Let them go beg Obama for some of his.

Adam Sandler’s bit was hilarious! OMG!
A friend posted the video of Sandler at FB and it is funny. So very NY. Probably the only watchable part of the evening’s show.
WTF was that skirt Kanye was wearing - really odd. Anyway, I can’t stand him, I changed the channel.

Kayne does have an ugly mouth and dark world view. I hope for him, that this phase of no-talent, no-heart and no soul passes quickly. I pray he moves upward into inspiration.
