Tom Taylor via his new radio biz newsletter tells us that DC-based righty political gabber Laura Ingraham should announce her new syndication deal today. Will it be with Cumulus? That was the hallway talk at last week's Arbitron Client Conference in Annapolis. Ingraham is the second high-profile talk personality to split from Talk Radio Network. The first one was Michael Savage, and he landed at Cumulus.
Ingraham joined TRN from Westwood in 2003 and was rewarded with a daytime slot instead of her previous nighttime gig. That helped free her up for other work, such as appearances on Fox News. When she left TRN, she said it was time to "expand and re-tool my radio program" - perhaps broadening it past politics to more topics around popular culture. DCRTV wonders: Cumulus owns WMAL. Might the DC talker put Ingraham in the late morning slot, replacing Chris Plante? Stay tuned.....
“go do” = could do
Yes, he is.
I still can’t find/haven’t heard anything about *why* he was AWOR for those days. Listening to Tue 11th Podcast now; will replay todays’ missed Podcast after tonite’s TGO stream.
Correction: Brian/Larry.
I hope Laura replaces or at least joins the morning crew and leaves Chris alone.
I don’t think Chis likes that early slot one bit.
Brian and Larry bicker like two little old ladies...
I absolutely HATE IT when they overlap each other in commentary — it’s so amateurish.
Larry replaced Savage last Friday, when Savage took the night off. He’s known nationally. Plus, Larry just got his deal at WMAL recently.
Methinks that Larry will stay put in the a.m. For now.
His family (wife, kids) all live in Los Angeles — and he commutes there every other weekend. He will eventually get tired of this and of the grueling morning schedule — which opens up a possibility for Plante in that time slot in the future.
(Although I’d much prefer Plante where he is right now).
I doubt she would join, but replace would work. It would be an upgrade for WMAL. Would she want that slot? Silvie thinks not.
Just leave Plante alone! lol
I rarely listen to either of them

I never was a Hannity fan...Don’t think I really liked/believed that Hannity/Colmes schtick which, I would imagine, came about because of the ‘popularity’ of Madlin/Carville - (supposedly) oil and water blending.
I go back to WMAL/Rush during the GHWB I campaign when ‘they’ were accusing Bush of being a wimp.
I kind of lost ‘respect’ for Rush over the OXY thing and I think he ‘changed’ with his 1st marriage...maybe I(we) expected him to continue the passion of the show back when he ‘claimed’ they forced him to take vacations.
As of today, I sometimes don’t remember to cut Rush on, and the only thing that keeps me close is the Plante show, mainly because he follows him.
I’ve tired of Hannity, particularly his talking over folks he disagrees with. I’ve begun listing to Andy Parks, who use to be on with Fred Grandy on the WMAL morning drive, in the afternoons on the way home. He is on WTNT, 730 AM.
Ive begun listing to Andy Parks,

I always took him to be a bit far to the left.
Maybe he was just trying to be a buffer to the ex R Congressman/Gofer.
Remember for a while there stations were ‘forced’ to hire a little dissent (when talk radio was all ‘Right’, think they abandoned that when ‘left’ started having their own FAILURES, so maybe Parks was ‘acting moderate or ‘worse’’.
When he was doing traffic got involved in conversations he seemed pretty ‘right’ - did he team with Chris Core before ‘Grandy & Andy’?
Also maybe that is the only way Hannity could get major air time - NOT be a full “R” show so he teamed for Colmes??
I’ve never considered Andy as “Left” by his comments, which were often in my view to the right of Fred. Core did mornings with a WMAL legend Weaver. They probablhy had Andy on the show as the traffic reporter.
The Laura Ingraham Watch Continues——Cumulus Denies Rumors of Ingraham Deal.
But Cumulus Media COO John Dickey tells TALKERS there is no truth to the rumor she is joining his company for a national syndication deal.

Rumors of where talk media personality Laura Ingraham will surface with a new, nationally syndicated talk show after parting from Talk Radio Network several weeks ago continue to pop up.
But Cumulus Media COO John Dickey tells TALKERS there is no truth to the rumor she is joining his company for a national syndication deal.
TALKERS sources are hearing rumblings that instead of hooking up with a broadcasting corporation that also owns stations (Clear Channel, Cumulus), Ingraham is busy working on a project for a new radio talk show with legendary syndicator Norm Pattiz in that effort.
Ingraham mentioned on Fox News Channel on December 7 that she would announce something this week but, as most broadcasters know, issues can pop up that delay these types of announcements.
