In a letter to Majority Leader Harry Reid, 18 Democrat senators and senators-elect have asked for a delay in the implementation of the Obamacare medical device tax. Like most of the significant tax increases in Obamacare, the medical device tax is scheduled to take effect on Jan. 1, 2013, conveniently after the 2012 presidential election.
Each of the 18 Democrat signatories voted for or supported Obamacare in the first place. And now they want a sweetheart exemption from one of its most onerous provisions. Even in Washington DC, that shows a lot of gall.
The signatories to the letter are as follows:
Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.)
Kay Hagan (D-N.C.)
Al Franken (D-Minn.)
Herb Kohl (D-Wis.)
Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.)
John Kerry (D-Mass.)
Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.)
Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.)
Robert Casey (D-Pa.)
Ben Nelson (D-Neb.)
Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.)
Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.)
Dick Durbin (D-Ill.)
Joseph Lieberman (I-Conn.)
Patty Murray (D-Wash.)
Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.)
Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.)
Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.) (Voted for Obamacare in the House)

Wow...some of the powerballs, too. So don’t be surprised if the individual states impose the same tax.
Several of them repeal Obamacare. Bring one of them to the floor of the Senate.
Corrupt, hypocritical, liars.
Does every Dem think he has absolute, dictatorial power over the people?
Wow, I guess they didn’t read THAT part. Or any other part for that matter.
Friggin MARXISTS!
I’m confused. They told us that Obamacare would benefit patients... now they’re saying that delaying this provision will benefit patients. That’s pretty contradictory.
Atrocious reporting...
What exactly is THE sweetheart deal? Sounds like that specific provision is belatedly seen as asinine or counterproductive with horrible unintended consequences.
If it is appropriate to repeal that provision, it should be repealed. If moron legislators can't bother to read and understand new revenue bills, the least they can do is fix the incompetences as soon as they can.
As more and more of the provisions of Obamacare come into gear and as Sebelius starts introducing more and more regulation and taxes into it a lot of Democrats are going to find themselves in the hot seat./
Wait until some of these minority Grandma’s are told their care is rationed and they start dying, their cancer is not treated because they are over 75.
Just wait, The SWHTF over this garbage in time.
Or instead of fixing their own incompetencies, I would prefer that one Republican with a backbone (mostly a mythological occurrence) stand on the Senate floor and argue the tax should stand since the President signed the law and certainly he knew the tax was there or he signed the law incompetently. And besides, since the President is hell bent on taxing the rich and all the community organizers will tell you only the evil rich can afford such devices and the American voters support such taxes on the rich.
By the way, the rest of the bill repeals 51 provisions of the bill WE don't like. So let's get the 'yeahs' and 'nays' !!!
Just who did those stupid senators (and that list is a really stupid bunch) think they were dealing with?
Little did these fascist pigs know that their lives may be hanging in the balance every time they get near a guy with crutches or in a wheelchair ~ now they do.
Probably the safe thing for the folks on this list to do is drop out of the Senate and ask asylum from Dubai.
OK, I understand calling them hypocrites because they now oppose a tax they all voted for.
But then, what about the entire congress and president screaming about how they have to act not to avert the disaster of the “fiscal cliff”?
That “disaster” is just two laws that were passed by congress and signed by this president. They all voted for it, and were apparently happy about it. And now they all claim that what they all voted for and signed is an assault on our country.
Is this the list of Dem Senators who will be up for re-election in 2014???
Duh, read a Bill BEFORE ya vote!
They were for the tax before they were against it...
