A professor at the University of Texas has sparked outrage by claiming black and Hispanic students are failing academically because they have been raised in single parent homes usually by females.
Law professor Lino Graglia was talking to the BBC when he said he could 'hardly imagine a less beneficial or more deleterious experience than to be raised by a single parent, usually female, uneducated and without a lot of money.'
He said the average black performance on SAT test is 200 points lower than that for the average white student and that among the black population almost three quarters of children are now born outside of marriage.
How well do these kids do in maths and reading is basically it and they do less well.

'And race or segregation or history wouldn't matter one bit if that was not the case.
'No doubt the race and segregation may have a lot to do why that's the case, but it is the case and what to do about it now?
'And admitting them into selective schools with large gaps in qualification is not the answer.'
Graglia is no stranger to controversy and was accused of racism in 1997 after telling a conservative student group that black and Mexican-American cultures 'set children up for failure'.
He said: 'They have a culture that seems not to encourage achievement.
'Failure is not looked upon with disgrace.'

I call it being lazy. Passing a class is all because of individual effort. Sure, others will influence, but ultimately, you must take ownership of your grades. Of course, this fly in the face of more government, so nothing will change for these kids.
What’s interesting is that differences can be mentioned for other physical factors except the brain.
He said: 'They have a culture that seems not to encourage achievement.
For years I've heard the derisive term 'acting White" directed toward a minority member achieving some positive distinction, some positive academic success, by 'breaking the cycle'.
Wow - my alma mater’s gotten it right twice in a row. Who’d’a thunk?
How about they are failing because stupid people are breeding more stupid children, and being paid to sit on their asses with welfare
The movice IDIOCRACY was a documentary, not a comedy
What is amusing is looking at the liberal reaction to a fundament truth. It's like turning on the light at night and watching the cockroaches scatter.
The ‘culture’ at blame is called liberalism.
In 1968 a book was released by the man who is now President Obama scientific advisor. This book was called ‘The Population Bomb’.
This book set in course the liberal agenda. That agenda is spelled out in a memo called the Jaffe Memo(http://static.infowars.com/2011/12/i/article-images/jaffememo-watersterilants.pdf). One of the goal of the liberal agenda is to weaken the family structure. The idea is that it is this family dynamic that results in children being born, and therefore it must be weakened to lower the population growth.
The side effect is that children who are still born, despite the best effort of those supporting this liberal agenda, are born into a culture that is not conducive to child development.
Read the memo. Look at how much of today’s ‘liberalism’ was defined in 1969!
Who are you counting as the first? Professor Mark Regnerus?
Occasionally, very occasionally, a lib arts type “professor” will demonstrate above average IQ. (And yup, law is most certainly a lib art...’cuz it’s not even remotely connected to something solid like science.)
Kudos, prof.
What do you mean punishment?
The Jesse Jacksons of this world will find a new constitutional right -- the right of every child to have a responsible father in the home. If the government can not supply this, it has the responsibility to provide a lifetime of transfer payments to make up for the deprivation of a basic right.
To some extent, you are right. But remember what happened some years back to the sports-handicapping genius in Los Vegas, when he commented on the genetic origins of racial athletic prowess.
The compulsion to believe that everyone is either interchangeable, or potentially equal has a number of roots; but it is of no value to anyone but demagogues & scoundrels. It is also totally absurd. (See Footnote On Absurd Egalitarian Compulsion.)
The breakdown in the Black family structure is a contributor to failure. But so is the compulsive refusal to recognize that there is a vast difference among types of Mankind, in the prevalence of various aptitudes. Again, the denial of reality, helps no one but demagogues & scoundrels.

Right, it’s the father’s fault, when women don’t want to get married because that cuts off the government bennies.
It’s the race hustlers’ liberal welfare cultural thing even more that single parenthood, which is often a result of the ghetto race thug culture. Act “white” (which in reality is not colored white) rather than act stupid, slut, thug zombie (which is multicolered, too.)
I was going to say, “fatherlessness” would be the common denominator in student failure, not minority status or ethnicity or “race”.
Now, the correlation between fatherlessness and minority culture is another matter.
Can't fight nature. They say (on average) white men can't jump. While that's true, it's also true that (on average) black men can't think. And in an era that prizes thinking skills rather than a strong sword arm, it's clear which group has the advantage.
Shakespeare answered that in Measure for Measure
It is obvious to anyone watching professional sports that blacks have a decided edge when it come to muscles. They simply have greater physical strength. No controversy or racism to notice that. Nor should there be any controversy or racism to notice that some races possess greater brains.
It is THE GOVERNMENTS FAULT.
I saw an interview with a 17 year old woman in The Buffalo NEws.
They asked her why she had a baby at age 16- her answer? BECAUSE SHE WANTED TO GET AN APARTMENT
She knew from her other welfare freinds that if you had a baby the gfovernment would pay for you to get an apartment and provide food stamps to live on
That is what government ‘benefits’ create
