No big deal. Salinas is the worst hellhole in the entire state of California. It makes Compton look like Beverly Hills. Naming the local elementary school after a notorious killer is par for the course, and will just enhance the exisiting situation a bit more.
Salinas ... Isn’t that the town in which Cal Hamilton’s mother, Cathy, operated her cathouse in Steinbeck’s novel ‘East of Eden’? Doesn’t sound like things have changed much.
