The reason I quoted your one line that cars don't drive sideways, is the obvious bias your statement showed. Not all bigotry is based on color, some is founded in pride against others in worse situations than yourself.

To explain my vision of the situation from the information in the article let me spell it out for those who missed the clues.

To fire in a doorway of a car you have to be beside the car. The car would have to drive sideways to attack you unless you are partway IN the car. Think illegal entry, search warrant and other issues that WILL come up in court.

So it seems that the information given show the cop, in the doorway of the car by his own testimony, and the panicked driver trying to pull away from the guy with the gun.

The driver and passengers that most likely had no idea what was going on, or they would not have brought their kids.

I have the advantage of thinking the situation out with hindsight, something the cop or the driver did not have. However, that is why you do not escalate issues way beyond their surroundings, as they might just blow up in your face and somebody get hurt.

A lesson that can be learned from if someone is able.

So take your bigotry, and pugnacious way and climb back under your bridge troll, cause if you can miss the obvious from the clues in this story, you really cannot judge my intentions or understanding with no clues. Your world view is way to simple, one could say even ignorant.

I taught my kids not to steal. I also taught them not to try and run over a cop or anyone else. I also taught them something else too. In several of the articles that have been published and a boatload of the posts on this thread it is clearly stated that the witnesses as well as the cop clearly stated that the driver of this vehicle was dragging him with the vehicle.
That other thing I taught my kids is to read what is there, deal with and repeat the known truth/facts, and not make up things just because it sounds good and supports your cop hating attitude.

Well than which is it? Is he on duty or is he working for Wal-Mart. Doing both at the same time is a conflict. IMO, Police should’nt be allowed to moonlight, but if he was on Wal-Mart’s dime, he should’nt be playing the “I'm a cop” card.

That is total BS. A sworn officer as all police are, is sworn to uphold the law 24/7/365. It is mandated that they respond to any felony they see. There is no variable on this. It is part of the job and part of their life. They still have a right to work a second job during their off hours but they still are sworn peace officers. You really need to take a reality check and do some research before you post crap like this.

if you have an article with a WITNESS, please tell us all the URL. Even the cop's claims were coming through his boss, the Sheriff ~ as was everything else except a reporter did refer to seeing shoes in the parking lot.

let's end the car dispute now ~ we don't know the facts without the videos, and they haven't been released. We have only heard from the Sheriff's office so far ~ be surprising if they'd had time to see the videos.

So, what's the problem here? Well, the way we all see it is that cops usually claim somebody was trying to run them over ~ even when they weren't. That makes it self-defense, no matter who you might shoot in the motor vehicle. The claim of self-defense requires the state to address the circumstances with other evidence or witnesses ~ e.g. the videos, but there are lawyers who can argue anything ~ and they will.

The cop faces the possibility of being charged with a capital crime ~ but so do all the folks in the car (has to do with a death occurring as a consequence of participating in a crime ~ you don't have to be the killer to be held accountable for the death). Then, there's Walmart and their security team ~ what was it they saw and were they correct? We don't know any of that yet ~ but if they were wrong, that wrongful death charge might come swinging their way.

I would imagine EVERYBODY involved in the slightest way in this event is in a state of high anxiety and will be for quite some time.

If you want to know what's really on the videos watch how Walmart's lawyers respond to the Grand Jury preceedings ~ if there was a wrongful death they'll be talking tangentially about whether or not those videos can even be used. That's the right against self-incrimination! If the women are guilty of everything, Walmart will trot those videos out by this Friday (motion's day)
