Jewish Support of the GOP Surges

The Republican share of the Jewish vote jumped nationally in the presidential election from 22 percent to 32 percent, an increase of almost 50 percent, Matt Brooks, executive director of the Republican Jewish Coalition, tells Newsmax.

Based on an exit poll of 1,000 Jewish voters commissioned by the group, Brooks says the results show that Republicans have gained market share among Jewish voters in five of the last six national elections. The 10-point gain in the last election is the largest since 1972.

Brooks takes issue with a poll commissioned by the left-leaning, pro-Israel organization J Street. That poll found that President Barack Obama received 70 percent of the Jewish vote, in line with an average of 70 percent received by Democratic candidates since exit polling began in 1972. As noted in my story Israel Not a Priority for Jewish Voters, the J Street poll also reported that Jewish voters in the last election cared far more about the economy and healthcare than policies toward Israel. …

FTR, J Street is not particularly pro-Israel, because they think that the so-called “two-state solution” remains viable. That adds to the vapidity of this diatribe.

32 percent means 68 for Obama! Can the Jewish voter hate Isreal? Are they so liberal that they can’t see Obama and his administration are distancing the USA away fro Isreal and are in lock step with the Muslim Brotherhood? Egypt, Lybia, Syria, what is it going to take for the Jewish voters in the USA to support a president who sees Isreal as an ally? This last election should have been a clear break from this president and the democrats.......but sadly for both the USAand Isreal it was not!

NY Jews would vote for Adolf Eichman if he ran on the Democratic ticket. They’re as firmly locked on to the Democratic plantation as blacks

Jewish Support of GOP Surges.

Garbage. The religion of US Jews is Progressivism. They’re not going to convert.
More wishful thinking here.

Rockland County, NY: 31% Jewish, Obama beat Romney and McCain by nearly identical margins.

Brooklyn, NY: 22% Jewish, Obama won 503K-108K (81-17) over Romney, 603K-151K (79-20) over McCain.

Manhattan, NY: 20% Jewish, Obama over McCain 572-89 (85-13), 417-72 (84-14) over Romney.

Nassau, NY: 17% Jewish, Obama over McCain 342-288 (53-45) Romney 264-231 (52-46)

Palm Beach, FL: 15% Jewish, Obama over McCain 361-226 (61-38) Romney 349-247 (58-41).

Maybe there are individual precincts with high Jewish populations that one could look at; from the county data, it appears that Romney captured very converts from 2008. At best, more Democratic-leaning Jews stayed home.

A huge percentage of Catholics voted for Obama too.

True, but irrelevant to the doscussion. I've always maintained that the Catholic hierarchy in the USA is solidly Marxist. With the exception of abortion and contraception, the USCCB's social policies could be written by the progressive wing of the Democratic party. Probably the same in other countries too, but I haveno knowledge of that
