1980 US population 227 million
2010 US population 308 million
that's 35% more people and the SAME NUMBER EMPLOYED?
How do 35% more people not work then in 1980?
I laugh more at some of these pundits on CNBC than I do watching Comedy Central. The spin is out of control
“How do 35% more people not work then in 1980?”
Part of it is millions Illegal Aliens working cash/under the table.
You’re doing the job the MSM won’t do.
Sadly this astounding fact will be unknown to 98.6% of Americans.
There are lies, damned lies, then there are statistics. The unemployment numbers are cooked to support the "agenda". Consider this however: Baby Boomers are now retiring at a supposed rate of 10,000 plus a day. That will put a serious dent in the size of the labor force.
1980? I guess that Obama really is a return Jimmy Carter.
It should be added for anyone not familiar that 1980, Carter’s last year, was hardly a banner year - unemployment was around 7.5%, I believe.
And the non-seasonal numbers (usually up in November due to Christmas hiring) (aka the real numbers) showed a loss of 114,000 jobs this November. 55 and over had a gain of 177,000, while 25-54 (Obama demo) lost 359,000 jobs. Wonder how many old farts had to get second jobs (me for one) to cover all those 25-year-olds on SS Disability (morally disabled)?
