One of my long-time college friends voted for Bronco, not once but twice! She’s a “devout” Catholic, but a social justice one. She married a Frenchman and their 7 kids were all born there; however, they moved to America about 15 years ago because there are more opportunities here. Yet she’s doing her best to try to remake the USA into France, lol. We’ve gone round and round about politics on FB lately, but she still doesn’t see how a good Catholic simply cannot vote for a pro-abort like Zero.

People define devout without realizing what it means. I don’t say I’m a gourmet cook, which I am not, If i wanted to do so because I would look up the meaning and then do some critical thinking with humility.

Yet people go around calling themselves devout without being so as if they were so they would definitively know that they will have to answer for it. Devout people realoize there is judgement.

When people call themselves devout and ignore the teachings of the Church, which are explicit and simple regarding abortion, etc., they cause scandal by leading others to doing the same things.

Your friend needs to realize (yes she needs to, it is dire) that she must either stop calling herself devout or pick up a Catechism pulished by Image (she doesn’t have one in her home, I can tell you, but every devout Catholic does) and she needs tor read it and understand it, just some of it. Just the parts on voting for a pro death candidate, before referring to herself as any kind of practicing Catholic.
