Let's determine what our national interests are here, and there may be some, but I wouldn't sacrifice any US blood or money to save anyone in Syria.

Thousands of troops? The personnel on aircraft carriers are usually sailors and pilots, not troops. The story makes it sound like thousands of ground combat troops are on the Eisenhower.

I thought Obama tried to make Romney out as the war hungry monster while only he was serenely aware of the fatigue America had over endless and needless wars.

For whatever reasons, Iran is supporting Syria and Saudi Arabia is supporting the Syrian rebels. Saudi Arabia. Iran. Libya. Oil. Soros. Obama. Hillary.

This link below takes us to the USN official Ike link.

The Ike carries a compliment of 6,287 sailors including the air jocks and their crew.

There would probably be at least an additional few dozen civilians on board monitoring their products/services in use and helping to maintain them.

A similiar amount of tad naval personnel monitoring and learning.

For the Clancy fans/writers, there will be a half dozen Guys from the farm and that many from No Such Agency.

It would be just like Obamugabe to put a huge number of our brave fighting men in harm’s way. After he gets them killed, he will have them replaced with his AmeriCorps thugs.

So now we’re going to do the same thing that we did with Egypt and Libya, replace a monster with another monster. And it’s going to be done to the tune of several hundred billion dollars of borrowed Chinese money...

And when it’s all over, the surplus weapons we provided will be used against us. Rinse, wash, repeat.

Sarin Gas. Maybe Obama will at last, chose whether he is a genuine American or not.

I have my doubts as most of you know.

I expect POSHITUS Obama to stand by and watch as severl hundred thousand human beings are exterminated in Damascus, while here at home he leads US over the fiscal cliff to weaken our military.

A genuine president would have acted already to interdict and destroy all known WMD in Syria ( originally located in Iraq under Sadam Hussein and trucked to Syria by the Soviets so that the left in America could perpetrate the myth that Sadam had no WMD.)

The IDF and Mossad already know where each of the WMD caches are and have told Obama.Yet Obama does nothing and will do nothing?

Das Fuhrer is securing his false legacy, and fortifying the distraction of a failed presidency and WH administration. Suggest that black ops put his @$$ on the carrier, and deliver him to the Syrians.

NBC News the other night a military expert said that it will take 75,000 US troops to secure the Syrian chemical weapons.

8,000 is a drop in the thimble.

8,000 men on a carrier seems a bit high, unless “The Ike” is carrying an MEU. That would be unusual, too.

If Assad has chemical weapons then he may also have a perfectly legitimate need - and even the humanitarian duty - to make sure that they don’t fall into rebels’ hands. This may require relocating them if the storage sites are likely to be captured by the enemy.

World War Three will arrive just in time for John Kerry as Defense Secretary, Susan Rice as Secretary of State and Husein Obama as Commander in Chief.

Somehow I don't think number three will turn out that well.
