IIRC, the Speaker of the House is the person who gets the majority of votes.
So why couldn’t Nazi get the votes? I s’pose it could end in a deadlock...but how tight do we want to make that?
And who would we put in his place? I think Paul Ryan is a decent guy.
Look at the effing ADVANTAGE that would give to Obamugabe...all he has to do to assume even more dictatorial powers is to say to the media and the public, “Look, the opposition cannot even decide who their leadership is going to be...this is a crisis, and I must take over all decision making.”
And the media would applaud him like the Senate applauded Palpatin in “Star Wars”.
I agree Boehner might have some problems...I’m not certain this is the best solution.
The best thing for Obamugabe right now is division of his opposition. And he is definitely getting that...which delights him to no end.
Again, it takes two sides to fight, and while Boehner is being a bit of a capitulator, I can’t believe he alone is to blame...
Regardless, I know the happiest people on earth—happy because of this division in the opposition to Obamugabe— right now are, in no certain order:
our enemies overseas
the Democrat leadership—our enemies here in America.
You bring up some good points. Unfortunately, Boehner only seems to get tough with his fellow Repubs, and NOT with the Dems. Republicans always seem to be their own worst enemies. Here’s more about Boehner’s tactics:

Boehner throwing conservatives off of House committees was not a capitualtion. It was treachery.
