I personally like Dick Armey.

I was at his retirement party at the TX GOP Convention in 2000.

He did contribute a lot to the Conservative Movement during the Reagan era.

He gave a lot of effort to the advancement of the 2010 tea party exposure.

I am sure there are things to criticize, but he is head and shoulders above many GOP POLs.

Armey’s a bit like Newt in that way—flawed, but has made some real contributions.

He was also responsible for closing the Super Collider and held up for years getting money to fix I35 north of Dallas. As one who lived under his ideas about government in his district I can say he was a huge failure. He did nothing to help TX get 90% share o9f it's gasoline tax revenues - which are needed for ROADS!!

I too met him at a breakfast talk, when asked about some of the stupid comments and laws proposed by the Democrats - while they still cotnrolled the Senate, he said, "Oh they will never pass that stuff, no neeed to mention it in the press." A real defender of the right - not. (that's my rant)
