Institutionalized white guilt is also a major factor helping the thugs enslave their prey. 40 years ago this young white victim would have not given the Crips gangbanger the time of day, but now to do this is considered to be “racist” so he was able to get his hooks into her.
Do believe they called themselves something like that ~ but a whole big bunch of their 'gang' were white boys ~ which made them into something of an anomaly in the world of Crips.
Several of them were recently sent to prison ~ without parole ~ so you don't want to get caught doing that stuff here ~ besides MS-13 has it's own boys out there and they cut you up somethin' bad you do that on their turf.

Oh, please! At 16, she could be convinced that this was “normal”? Not in any way letting the gangster off the hook, but a 16-year-old who was allegedly a straight-A student cannot be so stupid.
