We could spiral into a new Dark Ages, or a hard tyranny, very easily. In a street fight between Mad Max anarchy and Joe Stalin tyranny, Lady Liberty is not likely to fare very well.
Folks should batten the hatches and prepare for very heavy weather.

Absolute “Fairness” is an ideological myth that runs counter to human nature.
Government can’t redistribute talent, willpower, or intelligence, except through a fierce dictatorship.
You can build a political system based upon individual liberty or a system based upon social equality. You can’t have both. Personal liberty means that people are free to fail or free to succeed. Human beings are not equal in abilities, wisdom, or birth. In order to construct a political system based upon equality, you must have a strong centralized government that controls the production and distribution of resources. It must take from those that have and give it to those that do not have. The government determines what the individual needs and how much he needs.
The problem today is that everyone is interested in being guaranteed exactly what they want, with just about no regard to the cost to everyone else. Well, problem is, eventually the economy is headed for a collapse.
